Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine yellow cake mix, melted butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth.
- Pour the batter into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool completely.
Layering
- In a small saucepan, warm caramel sauce over low heat and stir in toffee bits until mixed.
- Pour the caramel toffee mixture over the cooled cake, spreading it evenly.
- Spread whipped cream over the caramel layer.
- Sprinkle crushed toffee on top.
- Drizzle additional caramel sauce over the whipped cream.
- Chill the cake for at least one hour before serving.
Notes
Avoid over-mixing the batter. Add a dash of sea salt to caramel sauce for a salted caramel twist. Substitute half of the whipped cream with cream cheese for added richness.
