  • 1 small onion, chopped Adds sweetness and flavor depth.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Brings aromatic richness.
  • 1 tsp chili powder Adds warmth and spice.
  • 1/2 tsp cumin Enhances the meat flavor profile.
  • 1/2 tsp paprika Adds smokiness.
  • 1/4 tsp salt Essential for flavor.
  • 1/4 tsp pepper Adds a little kick.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Creamy and sharp, melts beautifully.
  • 4 large flour tortillas Soft and pliable for wrapping.
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (optional) A tangy addition that amplifies flavors.
  • to taste fresh lettuce and tomatoes, chopped (optional) Adds freshness.

Method

Preparation
  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef, chopped onion, and minced garlic. Cook until the beef is browned and the onion is translucent, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Drain any excess fat from the skillet to keep the wraps from becoming greasy.
  3. Add chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Stir to coat the beef mixture evenly and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the cup of shredded cheddar cheese until melted.
  5. Warm the flour tortillas in the microwave or a skillet for about 30 seconds.
  6. Spoon the cheesy beef mixture into the center of each tortilla and roll them up tightly, tucking in the sides.
Serving
  1. Serve the wraps with a dollop of sour cream and a sprinkle of fresh chopped lettuce and tomatoes.

Notes

For extra flavor, sauté some bell pepper with the onions, or add diced green chiles or jalapeños for heat. For a healthier option, use lean ground turkey or chicken. Grilling the wraps for a crispy exterior is also a great idea!
