Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, milk, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and paprika.
  3. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the prepared baking dish, overlapping slightly.
  4. Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes.
  5. Sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
  6. Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes and cream mixture, then top with remaining cheddar cheese and grated Parmesan.
  7. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden and bubbly.
  9. Let it cool for a few minutes before garnishing with fresh parsley and serving.

Notes

For a healthier alternative, consider using half-and-half or low-fat milk. You can also substitute whole wheat or cauliflower slices for a unique twist.
