Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray or olive oil.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, chopped onion, minced garlic, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and pepper until well mixed.
  4. Spread the meat mixture evenly in the baking dish.
Baking
  1. Bake the casserole for 25 minutes.
  2. Remove the casserole from the oven and sprinkle the cheeses and mixed vegetables on top.
  3. Return the casserole to the oven for another 15-20 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serving
  1. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

Feel free to swap the ground beef for turkey or chicken for a leaner option. Add a teaspoon of smoked paprika for a hint of smokiness.
