Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mix your melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until well combined.
- Stir in the eggs and vanilla extract until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually mix the dry mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes.
Baking
- Scoop out a tablespoon of the dough, flatten it slightly, and place a few chocolate chips in the center.
- Enclose the dough around the chocolate chips to form a ball.
- Place each cookie ball on the prepared baking sheet with generous spacing.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are set and the centers remain soft.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before sprinkling with sea salt.
- Serve warm for the ultimate gooey chocolate center.
