Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and powdered sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the vanilla extract, almond extract, and egg until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. Mix until just combined.
- Roll tablespoon-sized portions of dough into balls and place them on the prepared baking sheets.
- Flatten each ball slightly using the bottom of a glass. Sprinkle holiday sprinkles on top.
Baking and Cooling
- Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges turn lightly golden.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Ensure your butter is at room temperature for easy creaming. Letting the dough rest can enhance the flavor.
