For the Cinnamon Swirl
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar Complements the cinnamon.

  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted For combining the swirl.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and sugar.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk the egg, buttermilk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
  5. In a small bowl, mix together the sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter for the swirl.
Baking
  1. Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan, then drizzle half of the cinnamon mixture over it.
  2. Add the remaining batter on top, followed by the rest of the cinnamon mixture.
  3. Using a knife or skewer, gently swirl the cinnamon mixture into the batter.
  4. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  5. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.

Notes

Use room temperature ingredients for a fluffier texture. Avoid overmixing to prevent dense bread. You can add nuts or fruits for variations. Store in airtight container for up to four days or freeze for three months.
