- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and sugar.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the egg, buttermilk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
- In a small bowl, mix together the sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter for the swirl.
Baking
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan, then drizzle half of the cinnamon mixture over it.
- Add the remaining batter on top, followed by the rest of the cinnamon mixture.
- Using a knife or skewer, gently swirl the cinnamon mixture into the batter.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.
Notes
Use room temperature ingredients for a fluffier texture. Avoid overmixing to prevent dense bread. You can add nuts or fruits for variations. Store in airtight container for up to four days or freeze for three months.
