Ingredients

Dough Ingredients
  • 1 cup cottage cheese Creamy and rich, providing a great base.
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour The heart of the recipe, giving structure to each bite.
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder Ensures the flatbreads rise beautifully.
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt Enhances the flavors.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil Adds richness and moisture.
  • 1 large egg Binds everything together, ensuring a cohesive dough.
  • 0.25 teaspoon garlic powder Optional, offers a fragrant touch that elevates the taste.
  • as needed cup water To achieve your desired dough consistency.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine cottage cheese, flour, baking powder, salt, olive oil, egg, and garlic powder if using.
  2. Mix the ingredients until a dough begins to form. If the dough feels too dry, add a little water gradually until it comes together smoothly.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, or until it’s smooth and elastic to the touch.
  4. After kneading, divide the dough into smaller balls. Use a rolling pin to flatten each ball into discs about 1/4 inch thick.
Cooking
  1. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  2. Cook each flatbread for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until both sides are golden brown and cooked through.
  3. Serve the flatbreads warm with your favorite dips or toppings.

Notes

To elevate your Cottage Cheese Flatbread, consider adding herbs like dill or chives into the dough. Serve with yogurt dip or hummus to enhance the experience.
