Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Mixing the Batter
- In a large bowl, combine the Devil's Food cake mix and the instant chocolate pudding mix.
- To the dry mix, add the eggs, vanilla extract, vegetable oil, sour cream (or buttermilk), and brewed coffee. Mix well until smooth.
- Gently fold in the Nestlé Toll House chocolate chips.
Baking
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Making the Ganache
- While the cake is cooling, melt the salted butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Stir in the cocoa powder, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth and creamy.
Finishing Touches
- Drizzle the ganache over the cooled cake and sprinkle with chopped pecans. Allow the ganache to set for 10-15 minutes before serving.
Notes
Ensure your eggs and sour cream or buttermilk are at room temperature for a smoother batter. For a deeper chocolate flavor, add a pinch of sea salt to the ganache.
