Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and pinch of salt.
  6. Gradually combine the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until a soft dough forms.
  7. If the dough feels too soft, divide it into two portions, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Baking
  1. Roll out the chilled dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  2. Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes and place them on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes until the edges are lightly golden.
  4. Allow the cookies to cool completely on a wire rack.
Decoration
  1. Prepare the icing by dividing it into bowls and adding food coloring.
  2. Decorate the cooled cookies with the colored icing using piping techniques.
  3. Allow the decorated cookies to dry completely before serving.
