  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce Contributes a slightly sweet and tangy flavor.
  • 1 tsp sesame oil Aromatic and nutty enhancing the overall taste.
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar Balances the salty flavors.
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar Offers a light acidity.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Provides a warm, aromatic base.
  • 1 tsp ginger, minced Adds a fresh zing and warmth.
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth or water Necessary liquid for creating the sauce.
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional) Use if you desire a thicker sauce.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Cook the ramen noodles according to the package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  2. In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger until well combined.
  3. In a small saucepan, pour in the chicken broth or water and bring it to a simmer over medium heat. Then add the sauce mixture and stir well.
Cooking
  1. Let the sauce simmer for about 3-4 minutes.
  2. To thicken the sauce (optional), dissolve the cornstarch in 2 tablespoons of water and incorporate it into the sauce. Continue to simmer until thickened.
  3. Once the sauce is ready, add the cooked ramen noodles and toss gently to coat them with the sauce.
  4. For a spicy kick, stir in the chili paste or sriracha.
Serving
  1. Serve the saucy ramen in bowls, garnished with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if desired.

Timing is key; avoid overcooking the noodles. Customize the sauce according to your taste, and consider adding protein or veggies for a complete meal.
