Method
Preparation
- Cook the ramen noodles according to the package instructions, then drain and set aside.
- In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger until well combined.
- In a small saucepan, pour in the chicken broth or water and bring it to a simmer over medium heat. Then add the sauce mixture and stir well.
Cooking
- Let the sauce simmer for about 3-4 minutes.
- To thicken the sauce (optional), dissolve the cornstarch in 2 tablespoons of water and incorporate it into the sauce. Continue to simmer until thickened.
- Once the sauce is ready, add the cooked ramen noodles and toss gently to coat them with the sauce.
- For a spicy kick, stir in the chili paste or sriracha.
Serving
- Serve the saucy ramen in bowls, garnished with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
Notes
Timing is key; avoid overcooking the noodles. Customize the sauce according to your taste, and consider adding protein or veggies for a complete meal.
