Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, beat together the softened butter, light brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add in the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition, and then mix in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips and Valentine's-themed sprinkles or M&Ms.
Baking
  1. Line a heart-shaped pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Spread the cookie dough into the pan, pressing it evenly.
  3. Bake for 18-22 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the center is set.
