Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the blackberries, 1/2 cup of sugar, lemon juice, vanilla extract, and salt. Gently toss to coat and set aside.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and cinnamon (if using). Gradually stir in the milk and melted butter until just combined.
- Pour the batter into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
- Spoon the blackberry mixture evenly over the batter. Avoid stirring.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the batter comes out clean.
- Allow the cobbler to cool slightly before serving.
Serving
- Serve warm, ideally paired with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
