Batter

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the blackberries, 1/2 cup of sugar, lemon juice, vanilla extract, and salt. Gently toss to coat and set aside.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and cinnamon (if using). Gradually stir in the milk and melted butter until just combined.
  4. Pour the batter into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
  5. Spoon the blackberry mixture evenly over the batter. Avoid stirring.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the batter comes out clean.
  2. Allow the cobbler to cool slightly before serving.

Notes
