Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.

  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder.
  5. Gradually add the dry mix to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk.
  6. Spoon the batter into the cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.
Baking
  1. Bake for about 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  2. Allow the cupcakes to cool completely on a wire rack.
Filling and Decorating
  1. Create a hole in the center of each cupcake using an apple corer or a small knife, and fill with jam.
  2. Frost with buttercream and decorate as desired.
