Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a medium bowl, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, minced ginger, and red pepper flakes. Mix well until the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Add the thinly sliced beef to the marinade and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes, or refrigerate overnight.
Cooking
  1. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the marinated beef in batches for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned.
  2. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
Assembling
  1. Prepare the jasmine rice according to package instructions and fluff with a fork.
  2. In serving bowls, divide the cooked rice and top with beef slices, cucumber, carrots, and green onions.
  3. Sprinkle sesame seeds and finish with fresh cilantro. Serve immediately.

Notes

For the best flavor, allow the beef to marinate overnight. Feel free to customize the vegetables. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
