Ingredients
  

For the puffs
  • 2 cups mashed potatoes fluffy and creamy
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese sharp and gooey
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese nutty and rich
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs for that perfect crunch
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions adding freshness
  • 1 unit egg beaten, to bind everything together
  • to taste salt essential seasoning
  • to taste pepper essential seasoning
  • as needed oil for frying or baking spray for a healthier option

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine mashed potatoes, cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, green onions, and the beaten egg. Stir until well blended.
  2. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Scoop small portions (about 1 tablespoon each) and shape them into balls or puffs.
Cooking
  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Carefully place the potato balls into the hot oil, cooking for approximately 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  3. Alternatively, preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway to ensure even browning.
Serving
  1. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces or enjoy as they are.

Notes

Use panko breadcrumbs for extra crunch. Add a pinch of cayenne for spice or experiment with various herbs for more flavor. These puffs can be frozen for up to 3 months and reheated directly from frozen.
