For the sandwich
  • 4 slices slices of your favorite bread Opt for white, sourdough, or whole wheat.
  • 2 tablespoons butter (softened) For spreading on the bread to achieve a golden crust.
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce or pizza sauce For that classic pizza taste.
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese The star of this dish that melts into gooeyness.
  • 1/4 cup sliced pepperoni Choose your favorite toppings, or go veggie.
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano Enhances the pizza flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Adds a punch of flavor.
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese Optional: adds an extra touch of cheesiness.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Spread a thin layer of butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  2. On the unbuttered side of one slice, spread about a tablespoon of pizza sauce.
  3. Add a layer of shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the sauce.
  4. Sprinkle garlic powder and dried oregano over the cheese.
  5. Add slices of pepperoni or any topping you prefer.
  6. Top with another slice of bread, buttered side facing outward.
Cooking
  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and place the sandwich in it.
  2. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until the bread is golden brown and the cheese has melted.
  3. Slice in half and serve with extra pizza sauce for dipping.
  4. Optional: Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top before serving.

Notes

To elevate your Pizza Grilled Cheese, add fresh basil or spinach for flavor and nutrition. For a kick, try adding crushed red pepper flakes. Experiment with different types of cheese and sauces.
