Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in the Sloppy Joe sauce, chopped bell peppers, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until heated through.
  4. Spread the meat mixture evenly in a greased 9x13 inch casserole dish.
  5. Arrange the tater tots on top of the meat mixture in a single layer.
  6. Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until the tater tots are golden brown.
  7. Remove from oven and sprinkle cheese on top, returning it to the oven for an additional 5-10 minutes until melted.
  8. Allow to cool for a few minutes and garnish with parsley before serving.

Notes

For variations, consider adding garlic powder, smoked paprika, or using ground turkey. This casserole freezes well for future meals.
