Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to ensure your toast gets perfectly crispy.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Slice the loaf of French or Italian bread in half lengthwise. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over both halves.
  4. In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the thinly sliced steak for about 3-4 minutes, or until browned and cooked to your desired doneness. Season with salt and pepper. If using optional vegetables, sauté them until tender.
  5. Place the cooked steak and any optional veggies evenly over the garlic buttered bread. Top generously with shredded cheese.
  6. Place the assembled garlic toast on a baking sheet and bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the edges of the bread are golden brown.
  7. Remove from the oven, slice, and enjoy your delicious Steak and Cheese Garlic Toast!

Notes

Consider adding fresh herbs like parsley or chives on top just before serving. Experiment with different types of cheese like gouda or cheddar. For a little heat, add sliced jalapeños or a drizzle of hot sauce before baking.
